Modern Slavery Statement

Man with Van Putney Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Putney has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect and promote human rights and we are fully committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

Modern slavery can take many forms, including servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. Man with Van Putney has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery and we are committed to improving our practices to combat these abuses wherever we may encounter them.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Putney provides local and regional transport, removals and delivery services. Our operations involve a combination of in-house staff and subcontracted drivers, vehicle hire providers, fuel suppliers, equipment suppliers and other service providers. We recognise that the use of temporary labour, subcontracted services and complex supply chains can create potential risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

We therefore expect and require all those who work for us, or on our behalf, to share our commitment to ethical conduct, fair treatment and respect for human rights. This expectation extends throughout our supply chain, from direct suppliers to any subcontractors they may engage in delivering goods or services connected with our business.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Putney has a clear and explicit zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not engage in, support, or condone any practice that involves forced, compulsory or child labour, or any form of human trafficking. Any employee, contractor or supplier found to be involved in such practices will face immediate and decisive action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.

Our zero-tolerance stance is reflected in our internal policies, codes of conduct and contractual terms with suppliers. We are committed to ensuring that our people leaders understand these requirements and that they are consistently applied across all areas of our operations.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We aim to work only with suppliers who uphold standards compatible with our own. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we undertake proportionate due diligence to assess risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

This may include requesting information about labour practices, worker protections, recruitment processes and sub-contracting arrangements. We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence to verify compliance with our ethical standards. Where potential issues are identified, we expect suppliers to cooperate fully in investigating and resolving them. If concerns cannot be satisfactorily addressed, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Speak-Up Channels

Man with Van Putney encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. We are committed to providing safe and accessible channels through which concerns can be raised in good faith without fear of retaliation or disadvantage.

Concerns can be reported to line managers or senior management within the business. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with relevant authorities and take all reasonable steps to protect those who raise concerns from any adverse treatment as a result of speaking up.

Training and Awareness

We acknowledge that raising awareness is essential to preventing modern slavery. Man with Van Putney aims to provide relevant information and guidance to managers and staff so that they can recognise potential indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond. Training and briefings focus on high-risk areas such as subcontracted labour, recruitment and supplier engagement.

We expect our management team to lead by example, promoting a culture in which ethical conduct is valued and people feel confident to challenge and report unacceptable practices.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Putney is committed to continuous improvement in identifying, assessing and mitigating the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains. We regularly review our policies, procedures and controls to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature and scale of our business.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis by senior management. As part of this review, we consider any reported concerns, the outcomes of supplier audits, changes in our business model or supply chain, and developments in legislation or best practice. Where necessary, we update our approach and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.

This Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Putney, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and oversight across the business.
